Savings Solutions for Children and Teens

School is back in session. This means it is the perfect time to teach your kids a lesson about money! Evergreen Credit Union has savings solutions available for children and teens.

Seedling Savings Club

Our Seedling Savings Club is for members 12 and younger. Opening a Seedling Savings Club account is simple. If you are a qualifying parent or guardian (current member or qualify for membership), you can open a savings in their name. Bring their social security card to the credit union to get started. There is no minimum age requirement as long as the child has been issued their social security card.

Everyone under 12 is automatically enrolled in our Seedling Savings Club and gets a stamp card. For every $5 deposited, children receive a stamp on their reward card (limit 10 stamps per visit). They get to pick a prize from our treasure chest after they get 30 stamps.

Parents and guardians with their own Evergreen Credit Union account can transfer money through online banking. Contributing to your child’s savings is simple and easy – ask how to get started today!

Teen Checking

Teens 13 and older can open a Teen Checking with a qualified parent or guardian. Teen Checking accounts are perfect for their first job, or giving your teen a bit of extra spending money. Your teen is strongly encouraged to begin using online banking to keep an eye on their balances before they spend money.

• Debit Card transaction alerts
• Opted out of Courtesy Pay

As their guardian, you will share access to their online banking. Transfer money as an allowance or give them a spending money for the next football game.

Graduation and Beyond

Once your child turns 18, you can come in together to remove your ownership or stay on as long as you like! Minor accounts becoming full fledged Evergreen Credit Union accounts with no restrictions.
