We are on a mission to be the most environmentally responsible credit union in the nation while continuing to provide amazing service to our members. Evergreen Credit Union is a full-service financial institution in Neenah, Wisconsin serving everyone who lives or works in Winnebago, Outagamie, Calumet, Waupaca, and Waushara counties.
Evergreen Credit Union was originally started by the employees of Wisconsin Tissue Mills in 1958 to help their fellow employees with financial needs that were not being met by the local banks.
In 1984, we outgrew the space available in the plant and built the first branch across the street. The location on Ehlers Road allowed us to provide our members expanded services for many years.
In November of 2002, our members approved of changing the name to Evergreen Credit Union. With the new name and charter, we made a strategic commitment to continue providing outstanding financial services to our current members and to reach out to serve new members in the Fox Valley and beyond.
As part of that commitment, we moved the credit union to our current location on West American Drive in 2005. The new building and location have enabled us to better serve our members and the community from an easily accessible location. Since the move to this location, our membership and the services we offer have grown by leaps and bounds.
It is our mission to be the most environmentally responsible credit union in the nation. We have been meeting this goal by implementing a number of projects.
These projects include:
These are just few of the many ways we approach sustainability daily! Get a more detailed look from our environmental certifications.
Evergreen Credit Union and our team sponsor and volunteer at events in our surrounding communities all year long. We strive to make a difference in the lives of our members as well as anyone in need.
Throughout the year, we sponsor different events around the community, such as Movie in the Park in the Village of Fox Crossing, Filthy Fun Kids Run, the Neenah Animal Shelter Furry Flurry, and more.
We also have bake sales, school supply drives, a holiday giving tree, and other fundraisers to gather donations for local charities. Additionally, on the first Wednesday of the month we host an adoptable dog in our office from the Fox Valley Humane Association to help them find forever homes. Call or stop in to learn more about our current fundraisers and projects.
In alignment with our sustainability mission, we installed a solar array at our facility. The solar array produces enough electricity to satisfy 85% of the credit union’s annual electricity demand. The array is made up of 198 SolarWorld panels that were installed by Eland Electric. The solar panels are 100% made in the United States. Installing this solar array is a major step in our mission to be the most environmentally responsible credit union in the nation. Check out all the ways we help the planet here.
