Friendly for All Ages – Credit Union Youth Month

Dated: April 08, 2024

April is Credit Union Youth Month! Evergreen Credit Union has many options available to help young savers succeed. From getting treats at the credit union (candy and non-candy options), Seedling Savings accounts, squirreling away money in a Youth CD, to opening a Teen Checking Account with their first Debit Card. We are here for every step of your child’s life.

Seedling Savings Club

Our Seedling Savings Club is for children ages 12 and under to save money with a little extra encouragement. They are automatically enrolled when they become a member. For every $5 deposited, children receive a stamp on their reward card (limit 10 stamps per visit). Once the card is filled up with 30 stamps, they get to choose a prize from our treasure chest. To get them started, Evergreen Credit Union will deposit the first $5!

Teen Checking

If they are ready to prepare for their first job, we can help with a Teen Checking! This account is perfect for teens 13 and older, and their payroll check can be directly deposited into their account. Don’t worry parents – you have to be joint on their accounts so you can help them succeed. They will also be given a debit card, which daily limits can be adjusted and card controls can be used in online banking.

Sapling Certificates

Want to make sure your child is saving money but doesn’t have access to some of it? 12 Month Youth CDs are a great option to save at an accelerated rate! Minimum balance is $25 and you can always add more money in at any time. As their guardian, you can choose to have the funds roll into another CD after the term is completed or be deposited into the savings account.

What’s available after high school? A variety of options! Keep us in mind when building that credit for the future big life choices. Whether it be new set of wheels, mortgage, or personal loan, we hope you naturally think of us.

Evergreen Credit Union is a full-service financial institution with an environmental focus in Neenah and Appleton, Wisconsin. Membership is open to everyone who lives or works in Outagamie, Waupaca, Waushara, Calumet, or Winnebago counties.
